Corey Ackelmire completed her MFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry at Kent State University in Ohio in 2007. She earned her undergraduate degree at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. Currently, she is a metalsmith, living and working in Carbondale, Illinois. She has exhibited in numerous juried shows across the country and has co-written an opinion piece, published in Metalsmith Fall 07, on the importance of maintaining a presence in the online craft community for contemporary artists.
